DESCRIPTION:The House of Actors: 3713 St Laurent Blvd Suite 202\, Montreal\, Quebec H2X 2V7 \norganized by Musical Improv Montreal \nOver 6 sessions\, Musical Improv Level 1 will introduce you to the world of musical improv through exercises\, games\, and scene work. We will learn the basics of how to improvise melody and lyrics of a song and how to apply these elements within a scene. We will start to practice creating music within song structures that will make you look like a magician on stage. You will walk away from this course with the initial training necessary for long form musical improv competency which is also the prerequisite to further your study of improvising a full length musical (a.k.a. a musical narrative or long form musical). No grad show. \nPrerequisite: Musical Fun Times and permission from the instructor. Priority spots reserved for students who have most recently completed Musical Fun Times.

Practice makes perfect and this weekly workshop will get your head back in the game\, introduce new concepts and give you the workout you need to keep moving forward in improv! \nALL LEVELS WELCOME / BEGINNERS TO EXPERIENCED / AGE 18+\nWorkshops will be taught by experienced improvisers/teachers\, and will be held in Studio B. These drop-ins are instructed in English and tend to fill up fast.
