Let’s take the time to rhyme! In this short musical improv jam, we’ll practice improvised rhyming through different exercises, games, and then create phrases and songs on the spot, focusing on the rhyme scheme.
These short sessions are great for any musical improviser looking to up their game, for any comedic song writer, or for anyone looking for something fun, creative, and focused to do.
No experience required, though some newbies might find it more challenging.
Our workshop is a lively, engaging experience that leads directly into our show. Every Sunday, you can join us to practice scenes and learn about story-based improv, guided by a variety of great teachers. Sunday 4-6, always free.
Indie Night is a platform to showcase experimental improv sets; folks are trying out new formats and styles, and you'll see duos, large groups and everything in between. Grab your tickets for an evening of experimental comedy! (Show, produced by Montreal Improv)
Our show is a natural extension of the workshop. A regular rotation of some of Montreal’s most talented improvisers always perform, including Sandi Armstrong, Alain Mercieca, Heidi Lynne Weeks, Maité Sinave, Mariana Vial, Adalia Pemberton, Solly Krygier-Paine, Kristina Guevarra, Mason Persaud, Shanthony Exum, Nicky Fournier and Jeremy Lewis . On top of having seasoned improvisers, we also have the new birds that walk in for the first time and steal the show. You could just literally show up and get thrown in the fire of a live show with no script! It has led to many amazing walk-in, home run hitters and creates an awesome “anything can happen” spirit, which is the backbone to improv.
Always entertaining, Sunday Night Improv promises a good time for audiences who are welcome to contribute to the show through their suggestions and voting.
