Musical Improv Level 3

The Wiggle Room 3874 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal

In Musical Improv Level 3, you’ll put all the pieces together to build long-form, narrative musicals. You’ll learn how to improvise a complete musical theatre comedy show with a linear story structure, using all the skills you’ve developed so far. We will strengthen your scene work, expand your musical repertoire with new song styles, and learn how to tie every element together. The class culminates in a final, improvised mini-musical performance presented to an audience. A second act will follow: an audience jam where people can sign up to play with you on stage!

Acting for Improvisers - Stanislavski & Scene Dynamics

“On the stage do not run for the sake of running, or suffer for the sake of suffering. Don’t act “in general”, for the sake of action; always act with a purpose.”
― Konstantin Stanislavski, An Actor Prepares

In this class, we'll play with objectives, super-objectives, and tactics. We'll learn healthy conflict dynamics, to recognize when a beat ends, and how to move forward with purpose. And we'll discover the benefits of both stumbling in with nothing and starting with a clear sense of direction.
